Responsibilities

World Building - Level Design

Pre-production

  • Plan game world in collaboration with directors.

  • Collaborate with team members to lay out macro/micro player motivation loops.

  • Define building blocks of the world - Biomes, Geology, Gating

  • Pitch, and write clear definitions for Dungeons, Caves, Regions, Events, Signposting, Landmarks, Fences.

  • Create Guidelines for resource placement.

Production

  • Test/set up tooling for fast paced blockout of environments.

    • Prefab World Builder

    • Advanced Mesh Spline Deform

    • Megasplat

    • Grassflow

  • Create/Gather/Modify C# scripts to extend Unity Editor

  • Using Unity Terrains Advanced Toolkit

    • - Rapidly sculpted stylized geological features for different regions of the game world using Unity terrains.

  • Create modules for procedural cave system using Dungeon Architect.

  • Iterate Levels
